You know, another time that I use braid over flourocarbon or mono-filament is on a spinning rod. Sometimes when you’re throwing the spinning rod, you get a lot of tangles. Well if you’ll try using a 10-lb Vicious braid, at a 2-lb diameter, it actually falls off your reel very easily and never tangles—it’s a great casting line.

You know one question I get asked a lot about is flourocarbon. All I can tell you is that I’ve spent a lot of time throwing flourocarbon, and I’ve spent a lot of time testing different things.

I actually would get in my boat and I would give the guy in the back of the boat flourocarbon, and he wouldn’t know it. And I would be using mono or co-polymer line.  Out of four strikes, he would get three, and I would get one—and he’s in the back of the boat behind me. So that told me right there, that the flourocarbon is a better line as far as getting strikes and catching fish.
